21-year-old Ocala woman jailed after man shows deputy video of her pushing him

Alexus Payton Smith

An Ocala woman was jailed Wednesday morning after a man showed Marion County sheriff’s deputies a video of her pushing him.

The man said he had taken the video of 21-year-old Alexus Payton Smith on his cell phone during the incident at her residence on NW 60th Avenue. Deputies noted that the man didn’t have any apparent injuries, a sheriff’s office report states.

Smith, who was arrested in April on a domestic battery charge, claimed the man grabbed her by the neck and pushed her. She said her breathing wasn’t restricted, the report says, adding that Smith wasn’t suffering from any apparent injuries.

Smith was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with domestic battery. She was being held on $500 bond and is due in court Nov. 7 at 8 a.m. to answer to the charge.
