Ocala man jailed after battle with scorned lady friend over looking at another woman

Terrence Latrell Zackery

An Ocala man was jailed recently after he and his lady friend tangled over him looking at another woman.

The victim told deputies that she and 24-year-old Terrence Latrell Zackery were riding in her vehicle when he struck the passenger-side dashboard and caused damage. She said she stopped the vehicle at a red light at the intersection of NW 35th and NW 27th Avenue and Zackery started pushing her face into the driver’s side window, a sheriff’s office report states.

The victim said she placed the vehicle in park and Zackery continued to poke her in the face with his finger and strike her on the right side of her face with an open hand, even after the light had turned green. She said the altercation stopped a short time later.

Deputies noted that the victim had no visible injuries but there was noticeable damage to the passenger-side dashboard of her vehicle, the report says.

Zackery, who lives on NW 27th Avenue, fled the scene after the incident but was later arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery. He was released on $500 bond and is due in court Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. to answer to the charge.
