An Ocala retirement community dweller found herself behind bars Thursday night after a nasty altercation with a man friend who she claimed had been “pushing her buttons” all day.
Marion County sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in the Oak Run retirement community in Ocala and when they arrived, 60-year-old Kimberly M. Heiner was standing outside the residence waiting for them. She said she and her man friend had argued all day and he “continually said mean things to her,” the report says, adding that she denied physically attacking him.
The victim claimed the two had a verbal altercation that escalated when Heiner slapped him three or four times across the face, causing a cut on the inner right side of his cheek. He said Heiner also had kicked him several times on his legs and in the groin area, the report says.
Deputies noted the cut on the victim’s inner cheek, which he said came from his teeth hitting the skin while he was being slapped. The victim also had an open cut on his lower left leg that he claimed happened when Heiner kicked him, the report says.
Heiner was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with domestic battery. She was released on her own recognizance on Friday night and is due in court Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
