Crews from Ocala Fire Rescue scrambled to a vehicle fire on Interstate 75 on Tuesday afternoon.
When firefighters arrived at the incident on the northbound side of the freeway shortly before 2:30 p.m., they found a gold-colored vehicle on the right shoulder of the road with smoke coming from the engine compartment.
Firefighters from Engine 6 used a pre-connected hose line on the front of the apparatus to cool off the hood and grill area while the crew from Engine 4 gained access to the engine compartment. Once the hood was opened, firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the flames.
