A Marion County Fire Rescue firefighter was the winner of Marion County’s inaugural “No Shave November” competition.
Brent Murray was awarded the 2019 Golden Comb trophy by the county for his facial hair feat. The competition, which was decided by popular vote across the community, saw submissions from 22 Marion County employees.
The concept behind the event is one that has been made popular by No-Shave November, an organization whose goal is to grow awareness about cancer prevention by encouraging participants to embrace their hair and donate any money typically spent on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention and aid those fighting the battle.
