Ocala woman with lengthy record back behind bars on trespassing charge

Sarah Lynn Bushong

An Ocala woman with a long arrest record found herself behind bars Monday after being accused of trespassing at a local homeless shelter.

An Ocala Police officer was called to Interfaith Emergency Services at 435 NW 2nd St. at 11:15 a.m. and when he arrived, a security officer said that 27-year-old Sarah Lynn Bushong was causing a disturbance and had been previously trespassed from the property.

The officer made contact with Bushong at the facility’s warehouse at 450 NW 2nd St. He confirmed that she previously had been trespassed from the property on Aug. 15.

Bushong, who was arrested earlier this month for simple battery and is due in court Dec. 3, was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with trespass after warning. She was being held on $500 bond and is due in court Jan. 4 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charge.

Bushong is no stranger to the Marion County legal system. In fact, she’s been held in the jail eight times since September 2012 on battery and trespassing charges, records show.
