Belleview police tase woman during trespassing arrest

Michelle Lynn Fey

A Summerfield woman was tased while she was being arrested for trespassing Tuesday afternoon in Belleview.

Michell Lynn Fey, 41, of 3650 SE 137th St., was charged with trespassing after warning and resisting an officer without violence. A Belleview Police officer spotted Fey riding a bicycle in the rear parking lot of the Belleview Regional Shopping Center, 10300 SE Highway 441. She  previously received a trespass warning at the shopping center in July, according to the police report.

The officer drove up to Fey and told her to stop yelling at her from a distance and Fey rode  away. The officer called another officer, who saw her riding her bicycle next door. Fey was placed under arrest and she screamed and yelled as she was being read her Miranda warning, the report said.

Fey told the officers she was just cutting through the apartment lot. She then tried to get away from the officers. They grabbed her, but she continuously tried to wrestle away from them. Fey was told numerous times to stop resisting or she would be tased, according to the report.

Fey continued to resist and officers were only able to get one handcuff on her. At that time, an officer deployed his taser into Fey’s back and she was taken to the ground and handcuffed. After being medically cleared, Fey was taken to the Marion County Jail, the report said.

Fey is being held on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on Dec. 23.
