Ocala Police seeking man who pulled knife on women near Gaitway Plaza

Officers from the Ocala Police Department are searching for a man who pulled a weapon on two female shoppers.

The man pictured above is being sought after following two female shoppers to their vehicle and then brandishing a knife on Wednesday in the area of the Gaitway Plaza.

The man shown above is accused of following two women in the area of the Gaitway Plaza on Wednesday. As they entered their vehicle, the man approached them and brandished a knife. The women were able to drive away but the man followed them in his vehicle, an Ocala Police report states.

The suspect was described by the victims as a white male with long dark-colored hair pulled back into a ponytail. His vehicle was described as a silver or gray Honda minivan. When exiting the parking lot, the man drove onto SW College Road heading toward Interstate 75.

Ocala Police officers are reminding all shoppers to use caution and be aware of your surroundings at all times – especially when entering and exiting a vehicle.
