A Dunnellon man was killed late Saturday night when his vehicle slammed into a tree.
Phillip Cheshire, 68, had been traveling north on SW 129th Terrace Rd. just before midnight when his 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup truck entered a curve and ran off the roadway onto a grass shoulder. The truck then vaulted over a paved driveway and collided with a tree, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
Cheshire died as a result of injuries he received in the single-vehicle crash. It hasn’t been determined if alcohol was a factor and the incident remains under investigation, according to the FHP report.
