Silver Springs man caught again driving with suspended license

Ricky D. Deeley

A Silver Springs man will spend a couple of weeks behind bars after being caught driving with a suspended license for the second time in two months.

Ricky D. Deeley, 34, of 3559 NE 59th Terrace, was arrested outside the Speedy Food Mart at 5501 N. 35th St.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy observed a silver Ford pickup truck with a Vermont license plate driving on NE 35th Street. The deputy ran the tag number and it did not return any information, and the deputy also observed the decal on the plate might be expired, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The truck pulled into the store parking lot, and a white male – later identified as Deeley – and a white female went inside. The deputy went up to the vehicle and confirmed the decal on the plate expired in October 2008. The deputy called in a traffic stop and made contact with the occupants when they returned to the vehicle, the report said.

The deputy ran Deeley’s license through the teletype and it came back suspended multiple times. Deeley told the deputy he was recently arrested for driving without a license. A further records search showed Deeley has one previous conviction for driving with a suspended or revoked license, according to the report.

Deeley was taken to the Marion County Jail, where his release date is scheduled for Dec. 30.
