Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group will perform at the Reilly Arts Center in Ocala on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Those wishing to purchase tickets for the event can click HERE.

Lovett is known for broadening the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers.

Lovett’s live performances display not only the breadth of this Texas legend’s deep talents, but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most compelling and captivating musicians in popular music. He has won four Grammy Awards, including Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album.

Lovett married actress Julia Roberts after meeting her on the set of “The Player.” They eloped after a three-week romance and were married in June 1993 in Marion, Ind. But they divorced in March 1995 after less than two years of marriage, claiming the breakup was caused by career demands on each one of them.

In May 2010, Lovett was conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters by the University of Houston. He received the honor in front of his mother, who had graduated from the same university with a bachelor’s degree in 1960.

Lovett is a known horse enthusiast who co-owns and competes in reining competitions with world-class quarter horses. In 2018, he was awarded the National Reining Horse Association Lifetime Achievement Award in the National Reining Horse Association Hall of Fame.
