An Umatilla woman was arrested for the second time this year after getting into an altercation with a man while they were drinking and watching TV.
Shannon Christine Phaeton, 46, of SE Highway 42, was charged with simple domestic battery after the incident, which happened shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday. Phaeton was arrested on the same charge in June, according to jail records.
The victim told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that Phaeton became highly upset and started yelling at him. He said she hit him two or three times on the left and right side of his head and ears. The victim said he tried to separate himself from Phaeton, but she continued to follow him and yell at him wherever he went, according to the sheriff’s office report.
The deputies observed the victim’s ears were red in color and inflamed. Phaeton said she and the victim were only in a verbal altercation and it never turned physical. She was unable to give any further consistent statements due to her level of intoxication, the report said.
Phaeton was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released early Tuesday on $500 bond. She’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on Feb. 13.
