Dog-bitten career criminal joins gal pal and Ocala man behind bars after trio flees from burglarized home

A career criminal who was nabbed by a K-9 dog and two others are behind bars after being accused of burglarizing an occupied Ocala residence.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence on NE 35th Street on Tuesday morning and when they arrived, they were told that a witness had observed two men and a woman leaving the house a short time earlier. Another witness said the residence, which had been burglarized multiple times over the past three months, belonged to his father, who no longer lived there, a sheriff’s office report states.

Ricky D. Deeley, Alice Christina Noell and Estell Albert Garwood III

After receiving descriptions of the three suspects – later identified as 34-year-old Ricky D. Deeley, 41-year-old Alice Christina Noell and 38-year-old Estell Albert Garwood III – a sheriff’s lieutenant reported seeing them heading toward NE 36th Street and then walking into a wooded area. The lieutenant recovered a backpack just inside a tree line that contained Noell’s Florida identification card, the report says.

A short time later, a sheriff’s detective reporting having Noell and Garwood detained near the 300 block of NE 42nd Street. The witness positively identified both of them as having been seen at the house and they were held for further investigation.

Noell and Garwood confirmed that another person was with them and still in the area on foot. A sheriff’s helicopter crew then located Deeley hiding in nearby brush and sheriff’s K-9 Cpl. Matt Bowers took him into custody after he refused to obey commands and suffered a dog bite from K-9 OTOW, the report says.

Deputies transported all three suspects to the sheriff’s North Multi-District Office in Ocala for questioning. After being read his rights, Deeley admitted to going to the home and taking oranges off the trees in the backyard. He also said he entered the residence “because he was cold.”

Noell also admitted taking oranges off the trees in the back yard. She said she also took a bag that that was later recovered with her ID in it. Garwood, who lives at 4038 NE 20th Ave. in Ocala, also admitted to taking oranges from the backyard trees and said he entered the home and took food and socks.

All three suspects were charged with unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling and larceny/grand theft. They each were being held on $10,000 bonds and are due in court Feb. 11 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charges.

Deeley, who lives at 3559 NE 59th Ter. in Silver Springs with Noell, is no stranger to the Marion County legal system, having been held in the jail 11 times since February 2005 on a litany of charges. He was arrested on Dec. 16 after being caught driving with a suspended license for the second time in two months. He was sentenced to spend a couple of weeks behind bars and was released from the jail on Dec. 30.

Deeley also was arrested on Oct. 9 for the same offense and remained in jail until Oct. 31, when he was released for time served. In that incident, Deeley’s two passengers, 20-year-old Logan Health Tindale, of Dunnellon, and 20-year-old Katlyn E. Spruill, of Ocala, also were arrested on a litany of charges.
