18-year-old Ocala man jailed after caught violating stalking injunction

Josue Gonzalez

An Ocala man found himself behind bars late Tuesday afternoon after a juvenile missing out of Hillsborough County was located at his residence.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to report that the missing girl might be at 18-year-old Josue Gonzalez’s residence at 5355 NW 64th St. in Ocala. A Hillsborough sheriff’s official emailed a Marion County sheriff’s deputy a copy of an injunction for protection against stalking that was signed by a judge on Nov. 12 and stated that Gonzalez was to have no contact with the girl through Nov. 12, 2024.

The deputy then responded to Gonzalez’s residence and observed him standing next to a vehicle where the girl was sitting in the driver’s seat. Both Gonzalez and the girl were detained, with him ultimately being placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail.

Gonzalez was charged with an out-of-county contempt of court charge for violating the stalking injunction. He was being held on no bond and is due in court Feb. 12 at 1:30 p.m. to answer to the charge.
