A Belleview man was arrested for allegedly strangling a woman who came into his room and wanted to talk about their relationship issues.

She said Young told her he didn’t want to speak to her and yelled for her to get out of his house, The victim said while Young was yelling at her, he approached her neck with his hands, pushing her back onto the door multiple times, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Asked if Young used one or both hands, the victim said she didn’t recall. She said she gasped for air a few times while Young’s hands were around her neck. The deputy observed the victim’s neck was red in color and irritated. No bruises were seen on her head from being pushed onto the door, the report said.

Young told the deputy he was asleep at the time of the incident and didn’t touch the victim at any point. He was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Friday on $2,500 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Jail on March 3.
