Three juveniles arrested in Ocala’s Historic District after golf cart reported stolen

Three juveniles were arrested early Wednesday morning after Ocala Police officers and detectives were notified of a vehicle burglary in the southeast Historic District of the city.

A 15-year-old female was quickly taken into custody after being located in the 300 block of SE 15th Avenue. She told an officer that her parents didn’t know her whereabouts and she had been with two male teenagers, an Ocala Police report states.

The three juveniles allegedly stole a golf cart from the garage/car port area of a residence on 15th Avenue. It was left abandoned and located by police a few houses down from the owner’s home, the report says.

When police approached, the males fled in an opposite direction from the 15-year-old girl. Through a home security system, police were able to verify her story and later identify the two male teenagers.

All three of the juveniles were charged with grand theft (greater than $10,000) and burglary of a conveyance – both felony offenses, the report says.
