Groin-kicking Umatilla woman jailed after nasty spat

Kimberly Lynn Kunder

A 54-year-old Umatilla woman was arrested last Thursday on a simple battery charge after she allegedly attacked a man and kicked him in the groin.

The victim’s mother, who reported the incident, told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that Kimberly Lynn Kunder was upset and arguing with the victim when she started hitting, kicking and biting him. She said Kunder bit the victim on his arm and kicked him in his “private area,” according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim told the deputy he was arguing with Kunder when she became upset and started punching, slapping, kicking and biting him. The victim said he pushed Kunder away and she fell to the ground, stood up and then separated herself from everyone. The deputy observed the victim had red marks on the left and right sides of his face and a red mark and swelling in the shape of a bite on is right inner arm/elbow region, the report said.

Kunder told the deputy she only hit the victim and bit him in response to him pushing her to the ground. She didn’t provide any other pertinent information and was placed under arrest. Kunder was released from the Marion County Jail on Saturday on $500 bond and will appear in Marion County Court on March 20.
