A 28-year-old pregnant woman was arrested after she allegedly struck a man during an argument at the Belleview Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim told a Belleview Police officer that he and Kimberly Ann Anderson got into an argument at the cemetery, located at 6251 SE Robinson Road, over another woman he was allegedly having a relationship with. He said Anderson became extremely angry, started screaming at him and slapped him on the right side of his face. The officer observed visible redness on the victim’s face and photographed the injury, according to the police report.
Anderson told the officer that she and the victim were arguing when she got “pissed off” at him and slapped him in the face. Asked if the victim hit her, she said no. Anderson told the officer she was three months pregnant as she was being placed in handcuffs, the report said.
While being taken to the patrol car, Anderson changed her story and said the victim did hit her, and she was trying to protect him when she said he didn’t. The officer told Anderson she was given the opportunity to give her statement already, and that she had said he didn’t touch her, according to the report.
Anderson became argumentative on the way to the Marion County Jail and wouldn’t sit back in her seat as instructed. She continued to yell and scream to the point where the officer had to stop the vehicle and restrain her in the seatbelt. Anderson was charged with domestic battery and is being held on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on March 16.
