Marion sheriff searching for toilet-clogging bandit who hit Family Dollar store

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a toilet-clogging bandit who stole multiple items from a chain discount store in Ocala recently.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies are searching for the woman pictured above, who is accused of stealing more than $400 from an Ocala Family Dollar store and clogging the toilets to distract clerks while she fled from the location.

The woman, pictured above, is accused of going into the Family Dollar store on State Road 200 and loading up laundry bins with more than $400 in merchandise. She then went into the bathrooms and clogged the toilets to distract the clerks and left through an emergency door, a sheriff’s office report states.

The woman took the stolen items to a nearby CVS Pharmacy, put them in the trash and went to talk to someone in a dark-colored SUV. That vehicle then drove around to the dumpsters, but when the woman spotted a Family Dollar employee near the stolen items, she fled the area.

Anyone with information about the crime or the woman is asked to call (352) 732-9111. Those wishing to make anonymous tips can call Crime Stoppers of Marion County at (352) 368-STOP (7867). Tips can also be submitted at www.ocalacrimestoppers.com.
