Gatorade bottle-throwing Ocklawaha woman arrested

Sara Raeann Brown

A 29-year-old Ocklawaha woman was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly throwing a Gatorade bottle and other objects at a man she didn’t like being at her residence.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy he went to the incident location on SE 59th Street to visit his cousin when Sara Raeann Brown noticed he was there and became irate. The victim said Brown, who lives at the location, threw a Gatorade bottle at him, hitting his face. He said Brown threw two other objects at him, but he couldn’t identify what they were, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Brown’s boyfriend said he saw Brown get into the victim’s face and throw a Gatorade bottle at him. He said Brown caught the bottle after it was thrown. Another witness said Brown and the victim were in a shouting match when she threw the Gatorade bottle, which he caught, the report said.

Brown told the deputy she was very upset with the victim for coming over. She said she got into a verbal argument and threw the Gatorade bottle at him, and he caught it. Brown said she hadn’t had any contact with the victim in over a year, according to the report.

Brown was charged with simple battery and taken to the Marion County Jail. She was released early Wednesday on $1,000 bond. No court information was available.
