Ocala Civic Theatre cancels events through end of March

The board of directors and staff of the Ocala Civic Theatre have decided to cancel all public performances and events beginning Saturday, March 14 through the end of the month.

The cancellations include “Father of the Bride” and the 79 For 70 world record attempt.
During that time, the facility will be open during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Theatre staff will be on hand to answer questions and assist with ticketing issues.

As soon as possible, staff will be contacting those with tickets for “Father of the Bride.” There are several options available for patrons. They may exchange their tickets for another performance this season, request a gift certificate for future use, donate the ticket value back to the Theatre, or ask for a refund.

The 79 For 70 world record attempt has been rescheduled for May 31 through June 4.
The OCT board and staff are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation and are committed to the most responsible course of action for everyone. Decisions will be made as new developments arise. Updates will be posted on the Theatre’s website – www.ocalacivictheatre.com – and on its Facebook page.

The Ocala Civic Theatre, located at 4337 E Silver Springs Blvd. (State Road 40) in the Appleton Cultural Center, produces more than 12 fully staged, professional-quality live performances each season and also hosts touring companies. The Theatre is volunteer-based and is one of the largest community theatres in the state, serving 65,000 Marion, Citrus, Sumter and Lake County residents each season and reaching more than 700 students ages 4-18 year-round through the Education Department.
