Knife-wielding Belleview woman jailed on domestic battery charge

Jennifer Lynn Gedeon

A 34-year-old Belleview woman with a prior domestic battery arrest is back in the Marion County Jail after she allegedly slapped a family member and threatened him with a knife.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that he got into an argument with Jennifer Lynn Gedeon on Monday when he told her she had to move out due to her drug use. He said Gedeon became irate, threatened to harm him, slapped him across the face and pushed him backwards, which resulted in him striking his head against a pole, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said Gedeon then pulled out a black and silver knife, which was approximately 6 inches long, and put it against the right side of his neck and threatened to kill him. The deputy observed a small cut on the right side of the victim’s neck and redness on the left side of his face, the report said.

Gedeon fled the location prior to the deputy’s arrival. She was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon. Gedeon, who was previously charged with domestic battery in February 2017, is being held on $2,000 bond. She’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on April 28.
