Marion County Public Schools donates healthcare supplies to first responders

Marion County Public Schools recently donated $9,000 in healthcare supplies for local first responders, nursing homes and others.

Marion County Public Schools donated $9,000 worth of healthcare supplies to the county’s Emergency Management Department to distribute to first responders, nursing homes and others.

The donation was presented to Marion County’s Emergency Management Department to distribute. It included 2,860 respirator masks, 2,360 boxes of gloves, 90 bottles of alcohol and five paper gowns.

The supplies normally would have been used with students in schools. The district still has sufficient inventory to operate schools for two months without ordering more of these same supplies.

Pallets of healthcare supplies are loaded onto a trailer for the Marion County Emergency Management Department. The supplies were donated by Marion County Public Schools.
