A Marion County sheriff’s sergeant was cited early Sunday afternoon for careless driving after a collision on County Road 464.
Sgt. Paul Bloom, 47, of Ocala, was traveling eastbound in a 2015 two-door Dodge near the intersection of Pine Trace when he was “momentarily distracted and failed to slow or stop.” The front of his vehicle then hit the rear of a 2008 Dodge pickup truck driven by 65-year-old Hilroy Browne, of Ocala, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
Browne suffered minor injuries but wasn’t transported to a hospital. Bloom wasn’t injured in the incident. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the FHP report says.
