Fort McCoy man jailed after lady friend says he forcibly removed her shorts

A Fort McCoy man was jailed recently after his lady friend claimed he pushed her down and forcibly removed her shorts.

The victim told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that she had gotten into a verbal altercation with 18-year-old Jake Samuel Nida after a recent conversation. She said the verbal altercation turned physical when she attempted to call her father to come pick her up.

The victim claimed that Nida grabbed her phone from her hand and then pushed her down and removed her shorts. Deputies noted that she was wearing a shirt with a towel wrapped below her waist.

After being read his rights, Nida admitted to grabbing the victim’s phone but denied pushing her down and removing her shorts. He was then placed under arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery.
Nida was released on $1,000 bond and is due in court May 20 at 8 a.m. to answer to the charge.
