CEP Survey hopes to paint picture of economic impacts of COVID-19 virus

Marion County residents are being asked to fill out an online survey about the local economic impacts of the COVID-19 virus.

The survey is being conducted by the Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP), along with the Ocala/Marion Tourist Development Council and the College of Central Florida.

The results of the survey will be aggregated by industry and summarized in a brief report. The CEP says the individual results will be kept confidential. The organization believes the information gathered will be useful in directing immediate local resources as available and in identifying the hardest hit industries.

The survey also will be used to help document the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak on the local economy and in accessing disaster relief funds that may become available in the future. A shorter version of the survey will be re-administered in six months to document trends over time.
