Patient trauma alerted to Ocala hospital after being pinned underneath train

A patient was trauma alerted to an Ocala hospital late Monday afternoon after being pinned underneath a CSX train.

Multiple first responders were called late Monday afternoon after a person was pinned underneath a CSX train in Ocala.

Crews from Ocala Fire Rescue responded to the incident at 500 NW 4th Ave. and when they arrived at 4:43 p.m., they assessed the patient and started rendering medical care while extrication began. The patient was removed from underneath the train by 5:01 p.m. and transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported. Crews from Marion County Fire Rescue and officers from the Ocala Police Department also responded to the call.
