Dunnellon man jailed after throwing knockout punch at Little Bonable Lake

Tyler Matthew Endler

An 18-year-old Dunnellon man was arrested after he allegedly knocked out another man during a fight at Little Bonable Lake.

Tyler Matthew Endler, of 18790 SW 51st Lane, was charged with simple battery after the incident, which happened shortly before midnight Sunday at a property on Shorewood Lane.

The victim called 911 and said he had just been battered and that he passed out. He told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy he was at the location, hanging out with two friends, when Endler and his friend showed up at the location trying to fight him, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said Endler got out of the car and ran after him, trying to hit him. He said he ran away and told Endler he didn’t want to fight him. The victim said Endler stopped chasing him and started talking to an eyewitness before coming at him a second time. The victim said he doesn’t remember what happened next, the report said.

Both witnesses the victim was hanging out with said Endler showed up at the location saying he was going to fight the victim. They said the victim walked away and said he wasn’t going to fight. The witnesses said Endler attacked the victim and struck him multiple times in the face, according to the report.

The deputy responded to a residence on St. Lawrence Drive and met with Endler and the friend who was with him during the incident. The witness said he and Endler went to “the lake,” where the victim and witnesses were hanging out so Endler could talk to one of the witnesses about a previous relationship, the report said.

The witness said Endler got into a verbal argument with one of the witnesses and the victim told him to leave. The witness said Endler then struck the victim in the front of his body an unknown number of times, according to the report.

Endler told the deputy that the victim pushed him first and he struck him back. He was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Monday morning on $1,000 bond. No court information was available.
