Ocala man charged with battering woman who refused sex

Jose Arnaldo Espinosa-Millan

An Ocala man is in the Marion County Jail for allegedly battering and pointing a gun at a woman multiple times when she refused to have sex with him.

Jose Arnaldo Espinosa-Millan, 42, was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, simple domestic battery, and kidnapping/false imprisonment.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that she and Espinosa-Millan had were in an argument because he asked her for sex and she said no. She said Espinosa-Millan became upset and started to hit her. The victim said when she told Espinosa-Millan she was leaving the location, he grabbed her and threw her onto the ground and hit her again in the face and side, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said when Espinosa-Millan got off her, she was able to get out of the residence and go to a neighbor’s home to call 911. She said Espinosa-Millan has been asking her for sex the last three or four days and when she tells him no, he hits her, leaving marks on her body. The victim couldn’t recall each incident in full detail, however, she said Espinosa-Millan would hit her in the same area, causing reinjuries, the report said.

The victim said two days earlier, Espinosa-Millan held a gun to her head and asked her if she wanted him to shoot her. She described the gun as black with a brown handle and silver on the inside. The victim said on the same day she went to the neighbor’s house to get away from Espinosa-Millan, who followed her again. She said he again asked for sex and when she said no, he grabbed a hold of her pants, pulled them down and started to rub his fingers near her vagina, according to the report.

The victim said she got away and went to the kitchen, and Espinosa-Millan followed her again and this time pulled down her panties and tried to penetrate her. She said he was also grabbing her breasts and twisting them during this incident. The victim said she was able to get Espinosa-Millan off her, but he bit her right middle while she was trying to get away, the report said.

The deputy observed multiple bruises and swelling on the victim’s face, back, arms and leg areas. Her left ankle was red and swollen, which she said was from when from Espinosa-Millan dragged her across the floor. The victim’s left eye was purple and black, which she said was caused by Espinosa-Millan throwing her to the floor and slamming her head into the ground, according to the report.

Multiple units arrived to enter the incident location and find Espinosa-Millan. Once arrested and read his Miranda warning, he declined to speak about the incident. The handgun that the victim described was found in the master bedroom under the mattress, the report said.

Espinosa-Millan is being held on $5,000 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on May 26.
