A couple of road closures at key intersections in downtown and east Ocala might take motorists who have been quarantined for the last six weeks by surprise.
For those traveling on SE 25th Avenue, the first road closure comes at SE 14th Street and extends to SE 17th St/SE Maricamp Road.
The purpose of the project is to “decommission a failing lift station and install a new gravity sewer system that will connect to the existing City sewer on SE 25th Terrace,” said a press release from the city of Ocala in April. This project is expected to be completed by Wednesday, June 5.
Another main closure comes along Watula Avenue, from E Silver Springs Boulevard to Fort King Street. The second and third sections of the City of Ocala’s Watula Avenue Roadway Improvements Phase III is expected to be completed by September 2020 and includes replacing stormwater structures and repaving streets.
