Ocala pair jailed after pot and methamphetamine found in car

Blake Walker

A woman and man from Ocala were arrested on drug charges recently as they were sitting in a parked vehicle behind a closed business.

Taylor Ann Lynn Marie Vrana, 25, of 4495 SW 85th Ave., was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug equipment and giving a false ID to law enforcement. She’s also being held on warrants for failure to appear in court and a contempt of court charge. Vrana has seven prior arrests in Marion County, the most recent in June 2019 for drug possession and driving with a suspended license.

Blake Walker, 23, of 2 Fir Trail Place, was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug equipment.

At around 1 a.m., a Marion County sheriff’s deputy noticed a Silver KIA Soul sitting behind a closed business on SE 58th Avenue. Walker was in the driver’s seat and Vrana was in the front passenger seat, according to the sheriff’s office report.

As the deputy approached the vehicle, Vrana threw what appeared to be a marijuana pipe out the window. Vrana and Walker were ordered out of the vehicle as it was searched. The deputy found a small case inside the door that contained a green leafy substance that later tested positive for THC, the report said.

After being read her Miranda rights, Vrana admitted the substance was hers. She also provided the name “Logan Vrana” and an incorrect birth date. Vrana later admitted to providing a false name and date of birth because she had active warrants. Once she provided correct information, a records search revealed two warrants, according to the report.

The deputy also found a small clear plastic bag in the back of the car containing a white substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine. In the front of the vehicle, on the driver’s side, were two glass pipes. Walker admitted that he uses methamphetamine but said the substances in the vehicle didn’t belong to him, the report said.

Vrana is being held without bond in the Marion County Jail. She’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Jail on June 4 for the contempt charge, June 9 for the failure to appear warrants, and July 8 for the drug charges. Walker is being held on $1,500 bond and will appear in court on June 9.
