A 59-year-old Hialeah woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Marion County.

The woman’s sedan was stopped at 2:25 p.m. on Marion Oaks Drive at the intersection with Marion Oaks Boulevard. She pulled into the intersection and was hit in the driver’s side by a pickup truck driven by a 25-year-old Ocala man who was traveling south on Marion Oaks Boulevard, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Both vehicles came to rest in the center grassy median just south of the intersection. The woman was pronounced dead by personnel from Marion County Fire Rescue. The driver of the pickup was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Unit. The names of those involved in the crash were not released due to a new FHP policy.
