A man who was spotted driving without a license plate found himself behind bars last week after fleeing from a Marion County sheriff’s deputy.
The deputy saw 33-year-old Jeremiah Jacob Wilson run through a red light and start traveling 65-70 mph in a 45-mph speed zone. He attempted a traffic stop but Wilson fled on foot, a sheriff’s office report states.
The deputy gave chase and was forced to tase Wilson a short time later to take him into custody.
Wilson was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license, fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer with lights and siren active, obstructing without violence and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was released May 14 on $5,000 bond and is due in court June 16 at 9 a.m.
