Lee County woman admits to biting man during Ocala car fight

Savanah Linn Rojas

A Lee County woman spent Wednesday night in the Marion County Jail after she admitted to biting a man during a fight in a car in Ocala.

Savanah Linn Rojas, 24, of Lehigh Acres, was charged with simple domestic battery. She told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy she was a passenger in a silver Kia Forte driven by the victim when they started arguing. Rojas said the victim pulled to the side of the road and grabbed her by the shoulders, and she bit him on the arm, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Rojas said the victim resumed driving and continued until pulling into the parking lot of the Wendy’s at Interstate 75 and West Highway 326. She said she took the victim’s phone because he was trying to call her mother. Rojas said the victim started driving again. She said she called law enforcement but never told the victim to stop driving, the report said.

The victim said he and Rojas were going to visit someone in the hospital when he pulled into the Wendy’s parking lot. He said Rojas started punching him in his ear, and he pulled out his phone and started videoing her. The victim said Rojas then bit him and demanded he give her his phone, according to the report.

The victim said Rojas started scratching him on his left arm and hitting him. He said she took his phone and deleted the video. The victim said they were going back to get Rojas’ keys when the vehicle was stopped by law enforcement, the report said.

The deputy who stopped the vehicle said the victim’s phone was under Rojas’ leg. The deputy investigating the incident observed three scratch marks with blood on the victim that appeared fresh and consistent with his story, according to the report.

Rojas was released Thursday on $250 bond and is due to appear in Marion County Court on Aug. 4.
