Ocala juvenile and friend arrested after paintball attack on newspaper carrier

Two more teenagers – one from Ocala – have been arrested in connection with paintball attacks.

A 17-year-old from Ocala and a 15-year-old from Summerfield were arrested Friday by Marion County sheriff’s deputies after being accused of shooting paintballs at a newspaper delivery person. The teens allegedly stalked the victim through a neighborhood following in their car, shot at the man and then tried to run him off the road, a sheriff’s office report states.

The teens allegedly crashed into the delivery person’s vehicle and then left the scene. Sheriff’s deputies then located the teens, their wrecked vehicle and their paintball gun, along with some marijuana, the report says.

Friday’s arrested followed a similar one Thursday where 18-year-old Dylan Pilcher, of Belleview, and a 17-year-old juvenile who lives in the 17000 block of S.E. 23rd Avenue in Summerfield were arrested. They were accused of shooting paintballs at victims in Summerfield and Ocala and charged with multiple counts of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon and shooting a missile into a dwelling, vehicle, building or aircraft. Pilcher was released early Friday morning on $75,000 bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set.
