‘Aggressive’ Ocala man jailed after reportedly trying to punch passing vehicles

Michael Allan Utterback

An Ocala man was jailed Saturday after being accused of attempting to punch vehicles as they drove past him.

After a resident reported the situation to Marion County sheriff’s deputies, they located 44-year-old Michael Allan Utterback, who was standing in the middle of a nearby road. When deputies approached him, Utterback became aggressive, refused to give them his name and resisted arrest, a sheriff’s office report states.

Deputies eventually identified Utterback and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with resisting an officer without violence. He was being held on $1,000 bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.
