College of Central Florida seeks COVID-19 mask designers for special exhibit

The College of Central Florida Webber Center is looking for artist/designers who have designed or created masks during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The artists will be featured in a “Masks and Makers” exhibit starting mid-August through September. The gallery will feature the talents of artists with a display of fabric masks, 3D printed masks, shields, guards, design patterns, DIY face coverings and more. Photos or videos may be incorporated with the items.

“Since the pandemic started, many artists, designers and makers have jumped in to use their creative skills to make masks and Personal Protective Equipment to address the needs of healthcare workers on the front lines, grocery store workers, and other essential personnel,” said Tyrus Clutter, associate professor of Visual Art.

“This exhibit is a way to recognize their hard work and innovation.”
Images, ideas or proposals can be emailed to Paul Shortt at shorttp@CF.edu by Tuesday, June 30. The gallery can provide return shipping for accepted materials and can print some images in house to keep costs low.
