A Silver Springs woman was killed Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Marion County.
The 69-year-old woman’s pickup truck at about 10:10 a.m. was traveling south on County Road 315, about one mile south of NE 135th Street, when it exited the roadway and struck a wooden fence on the west grass shoulder. The vehicle came to rest in a pasture, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, a 45-year-old woman also from Silver Springs, was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Both of the women were wearing seat belts, the FHP report says.
The names of both victims weren’t released per a recently enacted FHP policy.
