James Lebo

James Lebo

The LEBO family, and many friends are mourning his loss. Jimmy, as he was known, was born on February 2, 1931, in Williamstown, PA, son of the late Oliver Lebo, and the late Esther Seager Lebo.

Also, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Rita Dininni Lebo (Mother of Scott Lebo); Brother, Robert W. Lebo, and his wife, Jean D. Lebo.

Jimmy is survived by son, Scott Lebo, and fiancee, Tammy Leister, of Harrisburg, PA; Nephew, Richard A. Lebo and wife, Donna Lebo, of Hummelstown, PA.

After graduating from High School, Jimmy served in the US Air Force, from 1952-1954, during the Korean War-earning a Korean Service Medal, a United Nations Service Medal, and a National Defense Medal. In 1959 he earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics, and graduated, from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. Jimmy then began his career with the PA Dept. of Health & Welfare, where he worked until his retirement.

He moved to Florida, residing in Port Ritchey, FL, from 1985-2000, and then moved to Ocala, FL.

As a VFW Veteran, Jimmy became a loyal volunteer for over 20 years at the VFW Post #4781, and won the hearts of many members and friends. Jimmy was a Charter Member of the Rutherford, PA, VFW Post #1213; a member of Rutherford PA Fire Company; American Legion Post #998, of Lawnton, PA; VFW Post #4781, Ocala, FL; as well as the Loyal Order of the Moose #2356, also in Ocala.

He loved Penn State, and Tampa Bay Sports Teams, and enjoyed spending time with his family, and his many friends. Jimmy was an honorable, kind man, and was loved and respected by many. Jimmy lost his battle with Cancer on June 14, 2020. He will forever be missed.

There will be an Honor Guard Service presented by the VFW Post #4781 with interment at Bushnell National Cemetery, and a celebration of life held at the VFW Post #4781 in Ocala, FL, at a later date yet to be determined by the family.
