Three killed in multi-vehicle head-on crash on State Road 200

Three Ocala residents – two women and a 16-year-old female passenger – were killed early Friday morning in a three-vehicle head-on collision.

The crash took place around 6:20 a.m. on State Road 200, just south of County road 484, when a pickup truck pulling a 12-foot trailer was traveling east and crossed into the westbound lanes. The pickup struck an eastbound sedan head-on and then slammed into the left side of another sedan that also was traveling east, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

The drivers of both sedans, ages 39 and 73, were pronounced dead at the scene, as was the teenage passenger in the first sedan involved in the crash. A 10-year-old boy in that vehicle also suffered serious injuries, while the 60-year-old man driving the pickup truck was critically injured, the report says.
