Ocala woman jailed after fight over child

Tina Marie Kingsley

An Ocala woman was arrested Thursday after getting into a scuffle with two other women over a child.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that Tina Marie Kingsley, 47, of 3797 SW 127th Lane Road, showed up at her residence at around 10:45 a.m. demanding to see the victim’s son. The victim said it is not normal for Kingsley to come see her son unannounced, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said she was asleep when Kingsley arrived. She said she was told by her roommate that Kingsley tried to force her way into the residence and demanded the victim’s roommate bring the child to the door. The victim said her roommate grabbed the child from the crib and brought him to the door, where Kingsley was standing, the report said.

The victim said Kingsley took the child to the car, which was parked in front of the residence. She said she followed Kingsley outside to get the child back. The victim said she and Kingsley started yelling at each other and the dispute turned physical. She said Kingsley grabbed her neck and shoved her. The victim said her roommate grabbed her arm to break up the fight, according to the report.

The victim said she walked back inside the residence with Kingsley following her. She said once they were inside the residence, the arguing continued. The victim said she started to walk back outside to call 911 when Kingsley grabbed her by the hair and pulled it. The victim said she did not touch Kingsley at any time, the report said.

The victim said her roommate tried to get back inside the residence when she heard the arguing. The victim said Kingsley pushed her roommate against the door, causing her to hit her head. The deputy did not observe any fresh marks on the victim’s neck other than a red mark on her chest. The victim was unable to say if the mark was caused by Kingsley, according to the report.

After being read her Miranda rights, Kingsley told the deputy she came to the location to see the victim’s son. She said she rang the doorbell but nobody answered, causing her to become worried about the well-being of the victim and child. Kingsley said after she rang the doorbell twice, the victim’s roommate opened the door and told her the victim and child were sleeping, the report said.

Kingsley said the victim’s roommate brought the child outside and handed him to her. She said she took the child outside while the victim followed her and started arguing. Kingsley said during the argument, the victim came nose-to-nose with her and she put her hands up to prevent the victim from getting any closer. Kingsley denied hitting the victim at any time, according to the report.

The victim’s roommate said Kingsley came to the residence to see the victim’s son. She said Kingsley rang the bell approximately twice before she opened the door. The victim’s roommate said she went and got the child and brought him to the door. She said the victim woke up a short time after she gave Kingsley the child, the report said.

The victim’s roommate said Kingsley and the victim started arguing and Kingsley got into the victim’s face and pushed her. She said during the incident, Kingsley grabbed the victim by her neck and tried to choke her. The victim’s roommate said Kingsley also grabbed her by the hair, but she did not want to pursue charges against her, according to the report.

Kingsley was placed under arrest and charged with simple battery. She was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released Friday on her own recognizance. Kingsley will appear in Marion County Court on July 27.
