Officers and detectives from the Ocala Police Department were called to a shooting earlier this week.
The incident took place Wednesday night in the 1300 block of SW Fort King Street. Several shots were heard and witnesses described seeing two people confront others and engage in an altercation.
A 19-year-old man was shot in the lower leg but his injury wasn’t considered life-threatening. The suspected shooter was known by the victim and the investigation is now with the Major Crimes Unit and is ongoing as detectives develop leads.
