Ocala man nabbed on multiple charges after deputies respond to residential burglary

An Ocala man was jailed recently after Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residential burglary in progress.

After units responded to the 4900 block of S.E. 146th Place, a deputy located the burglary suspect, 24-year-old Kenneth J. Degarmo. A detective responded to the scene and Degarmo was detained and transported to the South Marion District Office.

After an investigation, Degarmo was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with unarmed burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, resisting an officer without violence, larceny/grand theft of a dwelling and giving false identification to a law enforcement officer. He was being held on $26,000 bond on three of the charges and no bond on the resisting arrest charge and is due in court Aug. 18 at 9 a.m.
