Ocala man jailed on juvenile sex trafficking charge involving 13-year-old boy

Frank Calabria

An accused Ocala child abuser is back behind bars after being accused of juvenile sex trafficking.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrested 64-year-old Frank Calabria recently after an investigation revealed that he had provided a 13-year-old boy with employment. He also provided the victim with a home to live in as well as food and clothing, a sheriff’s office report states.

Deputies say Calabria began giving the victim Xanax/Alprazolam pills and eventually coerced him to engage in sexual activity for the pills. He was taken into custody and charged with juvenile human trafficking, sexual assault by a custodian, sexual assault and promoting sex activity of a victim less than 16 years of age. He was being held on no bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.

Sheriff’s deputies believe there may be more victims associated with Calabria. Anyone who is a victim or parents who know their child has had interactions with Calabria is asked to call (352) 369-6715.

In May, Sheriff Billy Woods announced on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page that his agency was searching for anyone who was victimized by Calabria. At the time, he had been arrested on charges of child abuse, delivering drugs to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and depriving custody of a minor and released the following day on $20,000 bond.

“Victimizing children is not something I will tolerate,” Woods said. “Children need to be protected, and I will seek justice for anyone that Frank has victimized.”
