34-year-old Ocala man jailed after caught driving vehicle reported stolen

Justin James Cole

An Ocala man was arrested recently after Marion County sheriff’s deputies received reports of a stolen vehicle being driven near the Days Inn in Silver Springs.

Multiple units responded to the area and the vehicle, which was reported stolen in July, was located and followed. A felony traffic stop was conducted and the driver, 34-year-old Justin James Cole, was detained. He was found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and was taken into custody, a sheriff’s office report states.

After a detective interviewed Cole, he was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, driving while license suspended or revoked (subsequent offense) and possession and/or use of drug equipment. He was being held on $6,000 bond and is due in court Sept. 1 at 9 a.m.
