A 36-year-old Ocala woman spent Sunday night in the Marion County Jail for allegedly battering a man after she caught him viewing pornography on his phone.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a disturbance report and met with the victim in his truck a few blocks away from the incident location on Olive Road. The victim said he got into a heated argument with Danielle Kish Whitt over him making toast instead of rolls for breakfast, according to the sheriff’s office report.
The victim said to avoid confrontation, he went into his bedroom and started watching a video of a half-naked woman on his phone. He said Whitt came into the bedroom, observed him watching the video and punched him in the chest out of anger, the report said.
The victim said in order to defend himself, he grabbed Whitt in the back of the neck and pushed her away. He said Whitt continued her attack by punching him four or five more times in the forearm, causing injury, according to the report.
The deputy observed a dark-colored bruise on the victim’s forearm. The victim said Whitt has hit him several times before and he just wants her out of the residence, the report said.
Whitt told the deputy she got into an argument with the victim when he started watching a video on his phone of a naked woman. She said she was upset with the victim over him calling her names and admitted to hitting him first. Whitt said the victim grabbed her in the back of her neck, so she kicked him in the genitals, according to the report.
Whitt was charged with simple domestic battery. She was released from jail Monday on $250 bond and will appear in Marion County Court on Sept. 18.
