An Ocala woman was charged with DUI after drinking at the Bank Street Patio Bar.
At around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, a Marion County sheriff’s deputy observed a white vehicle traveling northbound on SE 1st Avenue fail to come to a complete stop at the sign at Broadway Street. The vehicle later turned left onto the frontage road along East Silver Springs Boulevard, according to the sheriff’s office report.
As the vehicle was making the turn, the deputy observed it strike a curb, drive up onto it, and then back off. The deputy then conducted a traffic stop, the report said.
The deputy spoke with the driver, Stephanie Carolina Romero, 30, of 2600 SW 10th St. #205. Romero, who was the sole occupant, appeared nervous and the deputy smelled the odor of alcohol emitting from her breath. Asked where she was coming from, Romero said the Bank Street Patio Bar, 120 Fort King St., where she said she had three drinks, according to the report.
Romero failed every one of the field sobriety exercises that were administered. She was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she provided two breath samples that measured .140 and .145 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath, the report said.
Romero was released later in the morning on $1,000 bond. No court information was available.
