Licenseless Fort McCoy man nabbed on DUI charge after caught driving 4-wheeler

Jeffrey Alan Libby

A 52-year-old Fort McCoy man found himself behind bars recently after being caught driving a 4-wheeler without a license.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies stopped Jeffrey Alan Libby in the 4200 block of W. Hwy. 326. When asked for his driver’s license, Libby provided deputies with a Florida identification card, a sheriff’s office report states.

During the traffic stop, deputies began to suspect that Libby was driving under the influence and opened an investigation. A short time later, Libby was placed under arrest and it was determined that his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit, the report says.

Libby was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. He was being held on $1,500 bond and is due in court Sept. 9 at 1 p.m., jail records show.
