FPRA speaker to share impact of personal public relations story

Cherrietta Prince

A local business owner and ambassador for the Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership will be the featured speaker at the upcoming meeting of the Ocala Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association.

Cherrietta Prince will be speaking during the monthly professional development meeting through an online format. The meeting will be held Friday, Sept. 18, from noon-1 p.m., with networking starting at 11:45 a.m.

After Prince received her degree in public relations from the University of Florida, life handed her twins. She began working in a public relations role for the City of Ocala and soon new opportunities opened up as an entrepreneur and then as a radio talk show host. Now, she’s at the Ocala/Marion Chamber of Economic Partnership, where she helps other entrepreneurs get businesses started. Participants will hear how her public relations training made it all happen.

The Ocala Chapter invites all interested public relations practitioners to this online meeting. The cost is $15 for guests and $10 for members. Reservation deadline is Monday, Sept. 14. Visit FPRAOcala.org to secure your reservation.

FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who enhance the public relations profession in Florida through ethical and standardized practices. FPRA comprises 15 professional and 12 student chapters throughout the state, providing professional development, networking and professional recognition opportunities.

The Ocala FPRA Chapter, www.FPRAOcala.org, was established in 1980. Members and guests typically meet the third Friday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the College of Central Florida. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the chapter has been meeting virtually.
