Gate rate increase coming to Baseline Solid Waste Facility

Fees for solid waste disposal at the Baseline Facility soon will be adjusted.

The changes take effect Oct. 1, with the most significant change being an increase in the gate rate from $42/ton to $45/ton for all solid waste disposed at the Baseline facility.

Fees for solid waste disposal are going up Oct. 1 at the Baseline Facility.

This will not impact the flat rate disposal fees of $5 for cars without trailers and $10 for trucks, SUVs and vans without trailers. However, those wishing to pay by weight will see their fee increase from $2.10/100lb to $2.25/100lb.

Rates for disposal of certain specialty items also will be adjusted. The Baseline Facility will charge $97/ton for disposal of automobile and small truck tires. Larger tires can be disposed at $210/ton.

While residents will still be able to dispose of up to 5 gallons of paint per day free of charge at the Baseline Facility and the 18 recycling centers, paint from commercial contractors will now cost $0.25/pound or $500/ton to dispose.
